Meet the Heat
It’s time to Meet the Heat.
Sound like gibberish?
Really, it’s not. You might know that I’m part of a fantabulous group blog called International Heat. You might also know we have a lovely Yahoo group known as HeatWave.
And now, in case you’ve forgotten us, we’re running a ten week long program where you get to meet all the IH members – authors, editors, cover artists, reviewers .
So stick around for some wonderful blogs. Each week everyone at IH will feature one IH member. That same member will run the IH blog and HeatWave group. (Check out International Heat for all the links you need), There’ll be titillating info about the member, sexy pics (No, not about the member, just of sexy men), smoking hot excerpts, prizes (Oh, yeah, how could there not be prizes) and an awesome surprise we’re getting ready to reveal. (No, don’t ask me now. I’m not ready to tell you yet.)
So, what are you waiting for? Let’s meet the heat.
Jess
Meet the Heat: JR Patrick
This week we welcome JR Patrick to the spotlight.
LOL, JR is very cool, and super to the point. Read on. You’ll understand whatI mean.
JR’s Interview:
1) JR Patrick: Pen name or real name.
Pen name
2) If it’s a pen name, where did it come from?
I won’t tell you that but I will say that Patrick is one of my hubby’s names.
3) How long have you been writing for?
About a year.
4) How did you get into writing erotic romance?
Jambrea Jo Jones made me. ![]()
5) What is your preferred genre?
m/m romance. It’s what I love to read most so that my first story idea was m/m made perfect sense.
6) Tell us about your books.
I have a short story, Only Yours, available at Dreamspinner Press. (Psst…it’s discounted until Wednesday).
Here’s the blurb:
When Dre asks his boyfriend Nate to move in, Nate leaves in the night without a word. Dre thinks he pushed too hard too fast, but the truth is a little more complicated. Nate is afraid Dre would dump him if Dre knew about his job in adult entertainment. Six months later, Dre is still beating himself up over scaring Nate away when they meet again… at a club where Nate works.
The idea for this story came from a unusually vivid dream I had. I was telling Jambrea about the dream and joked that it sounded like a story. She said, dead serious, “Write it!” And the rest was history.
7) Are you working on anything new?
Yes. I’m co-authoring an m/m romance with Jambrea. We’re only about halfway done so nothing much to share there yet. ![]()
Who would you rather have a threesome with? George Bush Jr and Sr, or Obama and Clinton?
That’s a no-brainer. lol Obama and Clinton of course.
9) Who would you choose to have a threesome with? (It can be any two people in the whole world, and yes, you have to answer!)
Eric and Alcide. No! Jason Statham and Daniel Crag! Wait! Can I have a five-some instead? (If you don’t know immediately who Eric and Alcide are, I’m truly sorry for your ignorance. hehe)
(Note from Jess. Sorry. Eric is all mine and only mine, and you may not have a threesome or fivesome with him. Ever. Pick someone else. NOW.)
10) Will there ever be world peace?
Nope, because there will always be greedy people.
11) You’re out shopping and come across that one item you know you have to have, regardless of price. What is it?
Sorry, this one stumped me. Probably because me “out shopping” is very rare. lol
12) Are you offering a prize for your Meet the Heat week??
There will be prizes throughout the week and a grand prize on Saturday which includes a $10 All Romance ebooks gift certificate.
A Quick excerpt from Only Yours. ‘
(For the rest of this excerpt, check out International Heat, and the other members blogs!)

The crackle of a wrapper opening sounded. The second dancer sheathed himself—one inch at a time.
Oh. My. God. They were going to fuck.
The second dancer squirted liquid into his palm and stroked his covered cock. He curved his upper body over his partner’s shoulder. The shorter dancer turned his head and they kissed. And kissed. Dre closed his eyes against the image of the two men kissing; it reminded him of what he didn’t have. Shutting out the vision didn’t work as he saw Nate behind his closed lids. The sound of a sharply indrawn breath prompted him to open his eyes, only to see that the second dancer had positioned himself at the entrance before him, penetrating slowly. Dre groaned and knew it was aloud this time.
Fuck, I need to get laid.

Cover goodness
Ooh, I have a lovely cover to show off.
It’s from my Samhain print book, coming in Jan 2010, Risking It All.
Waddya think?
(Credit once again goes to Scott Carpenter.)
Haven’t heard about Risking It All yet? It’s an anthology of two novellas, Going All In and A Question of Love.
Here’s the blurb:
RISKING IT ALL
When it comes to love, it’s a safe bet you’ll lose your heart.
A Question of Love:
Four years ago Gabe Carter left Tina Jenkins as a matter of honor, destroying the passionate threesome they’d both enjoyed with Gabe’s best friend, Connor. Now Gabe’s back, armed with promises of love and forever. Picking up where they left off is tempting, but Tina wants the whole package—which includes Connor—and Gabe wants her all to himself. It’s up to Gabe to prove that he is the only man Tina will ever need.
Going All In:
Julia Savage’s weekly poker games are not the only thing she’s betting on. She’s also gambling on the love of two men. Hunter Miles and Jay Baxter are happy to double up and share both Julia’s affection and her body, but their attraction to each other may threaten the budding relationship between all three of them. Now it’s decision time: all or nothing?
Are you ready for a combination game this hot? Double up for a taste of the edgy world of Jess Dee.

Meet The Heat: Jambrea Jo Jones
Yep another week of Meet the Heat, another week of fab prizes up for grabs.
And this week, we’re getting to know JJJ – or Jambrea Jo Jones – just a little better.
I’ve taken the chance to interview her. Oh, and I’ve included an excerpt from her beautiful short story, Heart Song.
So please, read on… (Oh, and psst. She has funny taste in food. But don’t tell her I told you.)
BTW, JJJ has a few cool prizes on offer. If you wanna know more, read this blog, then head on over to International Heat.
So, welcome…JAMBREA:
1) When I met you, you were reviewing for Joyfully Reviewed. Did you enjoy that?
I loved reviewing. I was supposed to give it up for my writing, but that Joyous just keeps pulling me back in!
2) Now your books are the ones being reviewed. How does that feel?
I love that too. lol I like to see what people are saying and if they find something they don’t like, I try to make it better in my next book.
3) How many books do you have now?
Good think I have a reference guide for this. heehee There are ten.
Forever Guy in the One Touch One Glance Anthology From Freya’s Bower
Runaway Man from Freya’s Bower
Unseen Path from eXtasy
Unwinding Path from eXtasy
Heart Song from eXtasy
Semper Fi: Magnus from Liquid Silver
The Seeds of Dawn: Dreams in the Over the Moon Anthology from Total e-Bound
Stealing Michael in the Stealing my Heart Anthology from Total e-Bound
Retribution from Total E-Bound
Appealing Proposal from Ellora’s Cave
You can find more info about JJJ’s books on her website:
4) How many coming soons do you have?
I have two, right now, that are coming soon.
Love by Design from Total e-Bound
Steamy Reunion form Ellora’s Cave
5) Which is your favorite out of all your books and why?
This one is hard. I really like all of my books. I’ll pick two. One is m/f and one is m/m. My m/f favorite is Magnus because it is military and romantic suspense. Two things I love. Magnus is hot and Emily is tough and rocks. The m/m that is my favorite it Retribution. It’s sci-fi, another one of my loves. The two men have to go through a lot to fine their love.
6) Which heroine/hero do you think most closely resembles you?
Goodness. I think they each have a piece of me I don’t think I could pick one who is the most like me. I think I would most want to be like Emily. She has a dream job and get to get down and dirty with the marines.
7) What would you rather eat: onion and olive flavored ice cream or fried grasshoppers?
Um…gross! lol I’ll go with fried grasshoppers. I think I could crunch through those pretty quick and I’ve heard they are a delicacy.
Who would you choose to have a menage with? (Yes, you have to say!)
My characters? Rock and Zander um…they haven’t been written yet so I guess I’ll say Kain and Rave. You meet Rock in their story. I picked Rock and Zander because they are both bi and I like my boys to touch. Kain and Rave are gay…they might not like me joining in. heehee
9) Who would you least like to have a menage with? (and yes, you have to answer.)
Ahhh….Jabba the Hut and one of his minions? heehee

Rafe lost his love, but did he really have it to begin with? He finds out more than he bargained for after the death of his ex-lover. Will he ever find the love he is looking for?
Excerpt:
The man’s voice sounded rough with tears. My heart ached for him. I may have lost an ex-lover, but he’d lost his father. I swung back around to face Charlie’s son. I didn’t say anything. I couldn’t. I looked at his face, so different from Charlie’s. Stewart had moss green eyes and dark brown hair caressed his brow. He had laugh lines and a tiny spattering of freckles along his nose. A far cry from Charlie’s stoic blond good looks, brown eyes and a face that didn’t look lived in. Something I remembered about Charlie. He didn’t smile often. I wondered if he was ever happy.
I felt my cock harden as I took in the beauty of his son. I needed to get away from the delicious looking man. I couldn’t do this to him. Not here, not today. I hoped my erection wasn’t noticeable.
“You’re Rafe. Rafe Wilson, right?”
I was stunned he knew my name. How did he know me when I had no idea he even existed. “Ah…yes, that’s me.”
“My father told me about you.” He spoke so softly I almost didn’t hear him.
“He did?” I sounded surprised, even I could hear it in my voice.
“Yes. About a week before he died, he called me and told me there was someone I needed to meet, someone who might need me to take care of him. I didn’t know what to make of it, to tell you the truth. Now that I look back, he must have known he wouldn’t be around much longer.”
“What? I don’t think I understand.”
“He loved you, you know. Dad told me he couldn’t love you the way you deserved. He wanted me to know you didn’t care about his money, but you loved him with every fiber of your being. That was important to him. Dad also told me you’d finally left him for good. Then he told me I had to meet you.”
“I’m sorry. I can’t–I–” I ran away. Staying and listening to a stranger tell me Charlie’s feelings was too much. And what the fuck was he thinking, telling his son to come find me. Matchmaking from the grave? I didn’t recognize my voice as a hysterical laugh slipped from my throat. I had to leave, now. I couldn’t stay in this house any longer, too many memories nipping at my heels and I couldn’t let them pull me under.

(Note from Jess: I love this cover so much, I thought I’d just make sure everyone got a look see.)
Thanx JJJ, for the interview,
Jess
Meet the Heat: Jayne Rylon
Ah, Jayne! What can I say about her? She is a brilliant, brilliant author, writes scorching hot, emotionally charged love stories, has mastered the art of m/m, m/m/f and /m/f/m scenes, and is charting new territories with her m/m/m/m/m/m/m/m/m/m/m/f books.
Jayne’s releases head straight for no 1 on the bestseller lists, and tend to stay on those lists for a very long time.
Of all her books, and she’s written some crackers (I love, love, love Night is Darkest), Jayne’s first release is still my favorite. Picture Perfect is available now at Ellora’s Cave, and you can find out more about it by scrolling down to the end of this post.
I’ve taken this opportunity to interview the lovely Jayne. (And yes, she really is lovely, even if her answers reveal her to be a tiny bit twisted…)
So, please welcome…
JAYNE RYLON:
1) Jayne Rylon: Pen name or real name?
Pen name.
2) Where did you come up with the name?
I could tell you but then I’d have to kill you.
It’s a combination of my grandmother’s street name and my real name.
(Note from Jess. Yeah, I warned you. Twisted. But wait, you ain’t seen nothing yet.)
3) You’ve come a long way since we did the Menage and More anthology together. Tell us about your writing and your books since then.
It’s in no small part to you and Lorelei that I am where I am today. The menage and more antho was a big part of getting my name out there. I’d only had one other release before that time so no one knew who I was (not that I’m a household name today or anything, lol!). I really appreciate the opportunity I was given to participate in the project with two outstanding authors who inspired me to keep going.
So… since that time, there’s been a lot going on. I’m working on the Powertools series which is a collection of extended menage short stories, the first of which was Kate’s Crew. Book two, Morgan’s Surprise will be out from Samhain in January with two more to follow. In addition, I’ve been writing the Men in Blue series of novels which run the gamut from m/m/f to straight m/f to BDSM. Plus, the fabulous Mari Carr and I have a four book co-authored series in the works for next year. I’ve also been involved in the Cougar Challenge series at Ellora’s Cave with Driven and the sequel to that book which both rely heavily on international travel settings. Plus, my first Exotika release at EC is coming soon! And… well, like I said, there’s a lot going on. For those who aren’t asleep by now they can check out the books page on my site for more deets.
(Note from Jess: Yeah, it’s all thanx to Lorelei and myself that Jayne is a brilliant author. Her skill had nothing to do with her success.)
(4) m/f ,m/f/m. m/m/f, or m/m/m/m/m/m/m/mm/f. Which do you enjoy writing the most?
Clearly it’s got to be the mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm variety. I mean, it’s even a sound that sounds good. Plus, the covers are yummy. What can I say?
5) Which character in your book most closely resembles you?
I don’t think any of my characters are like me. There are tiny little slivers of things that come from my experience (no, not the good parts) like the places in my books–I’ve never written about a location I haven’t been to–or Alexa’s car in Nice and Naughty. I do actually drive a silver convertible. But, I like to think all of my heroines are extraordinary people and I’m just me. Nothing heroic to look at here.
6) Who is your favorite hero?
Of all my heroes, I think I like Razor the most right now. (That’s Razor from Razor’s Edge). He’s young, makes mistakes, has a crapload of stuff dumped on him and keeps charging through. I can’t wait for his book to release (in November!). I have a feeling Jeremy Radison might pass him up when I get to the next book in the series, though. It’s one of the greatest things about writing connected books. You really live with these characters for a long time. I’ll be sad when I’ve told all the Men in Blue stories.
7) Who would you choose to have a menage with? It can be anyone, and it doesn’t have to be limited to three of you.
(And yes, you have to answer.)
I have to answer? We’re going to have to talk about your “friendly” interviews, Jess. Uhhhh… Ranger and Joe Morelli. Enough said.
Let’s throw you into the “Indecent Proposal” scenario. You and your hubby are struggling. Money’s tight. Reaaalllllly tight. And then out of the blue a handsome stranger offers you a million dollars to sleep with him. Would you do it? (Remember, honesty please.)
I’d go ahead and let the guy sleep with my husband as long as I could watch. Oh, what, that’s not what you meant? And husband, if you see this… I’m just kidding. Really.
(Note from Jess: What did I tell you about the twisted thing???)

Picture Perfect
The Blurb:
Conn Hennessey would give his father’s properties to ravish the woman he watches every night as an unwilling voyeur. Dana is uninhibited, passionate and gorgeous, but he would never settle for spying on her if he had the chance to ease the loneliness she confesses to him often.
Trapped in a cursed painting nine hundred years ago, a millennium of experience convinces Conn that Dana is his soul mate. Observing her without being able to caress her, to bring all her sensual desires to reality, is an unending torment—until All Hallow’s Eve magic gives him a shot at freeing them both.
During one wild night, he fulfills Dana’s fantasies. Come morning, can he convince her of what he knows to be true? He’s not an imposter pretending to be the man of her dreams. They were destined to be together and he has twenty-four passion-filled hours to break the spell or be condemned to his prison, alone, for all of eternity.
The clock is ticking.
An Excerpt:
The fiery nymph on display in her luxurious bed made up for at least twenty of the boring years Conn Hennessey had spent in a dusty attic, covered with a canvas tarp. Her beauty staggered him. Her long legs, spread apart directly in front of him, granted him clear access to admire her freshly waxed mound.
Sweet gods! The need to take her, to consume her, tormented him. Doomed to observe, his eyelids refused to close as manners required. Forced to watch, Conn couldn’t even relieve his own arousal as his body demanded. Nine hundred years of torture had taught him any attempt to move was futile. No matter how badly he longed to wrap his hand around his throbbing cock, his arm might as well have been made of steel. It would not budge. The roar of impotent rage bubbling within him would never break through his mouth, forever sealed in that nasty grimace of shock and outrage.
Dana stared straight into his eyes as she inched the shiny material of her garment up her supple belly, innocently setting him ablaze. Her innate sensuality distracted him, pulling him from his fit of anger. Resigned to his fate, Conn admitted the situation could be worse. Her earlier phone conversation had been muffled by the partially closed door. The dread building inside his heart as he listened to Dana’s extended grooming ritual subsided now that he realized she hadn’t been arranging a tryst with a lover.
Though she’d never brought a man home for sex in her bed, she indulged in occasional affairs. Conn lived vicariously through the steamy stories she related to him about her limited sexual experiences, always devising ways he could have improved her pleasure. He stored memories for the long and lonely times when nothing happened, when his owner deserted the house, leaving him with nothing to occupy his mind. During those stretches of unbearable quiet, he fantasized about what he would do to her if only he could.

Meet the Heat: T/EBookAddict
Yep, EBookAddict is a real person. You might know here as Theresa, or just plain T. Or you might know her as the owner of a wonderful review site called, surprisingly, Reviews at EbookAddict.
When I first met T, she was only just starting up with reviewing. Now she’s got this amazing website, and several reviewers working with her, and she’s being sent books for review from almost every major e-publisher in the romance world.
I’m very happy to tell you I’ve interviewed T, and you can get to know her just a little better by reading her answers to my questions below.
So….
HERE’S T!
Hey T. Welcome to my blog!
Gee I’ve never been interviewed before this may go to my head
lol
1) How did you discover the wonderful world of ebooks?
Reading Suzanne Brockmann’s Troubleshooter’s series I fell in love with her characters Jules and Robin and I wanted to read more m/m so I went in search of more authors and sadly for the most part ebooks are the only place to find m/m romance, in my searchI found Ellora’s Cave and ebooks and the rest as they say is history
2) What made you decide to start reviewing ebooks?
Actually it is probably a very egotistical reason. I wanted to be able to tell people my opinion of books… yep I had opinions and I just knew the world wanted to know what those were
*insert maniacal laugh here*
3) I know you have a personal preference when it comes to genres. Do tell…
Male/male romance! I love it. I am hooked. I think I always will be. I had hit a point in romance where everything was the same one way or another, and I was getting bored. Then I found m/m romance and even though the basics of the stories were the same it was something different, and well I’m not going to lie the hotness has a lot to do with it.
4) Tell us about Ebookaddictreviews.com.
I’m a control freak, and I probably don’t take constructive criticism as well as I should, so going to work for one of the established reviews sites just didn’t work for me, I had to be able to do things my way… So ebookaddict was born I could review the books I wanted and share my thoughts on them, and pimp…I mean promote the authors I wanted to. I had my favorites and I wanted to help in some small way. It really started out as something more like a hobby and then some of the authors I would review started asking if I wanted whatever their newest release was at the time. And that in my opinion was the highest compliment they could have given me. Then I met you ladies (IH) and you all supported and encouraged me and I caved and sent my first batch of e-mails out to publishers requesting to be one of their review sites. Loose Id were the first to give my small review site a chance to grow and for that they will always have a special place in my overly mushy heart.
After that more authors started sending requests and some smaller publishers sent review requests and I actually had to look for another reviewer to help me out. That was serious WOW moment for me. I could not believe I had grown that much. In the last month I’ve actually had to bring on even more reviewers to help with the review requests and I transitioned over to website. I’m still wondering why I did this, but I just woke up one morning and decided it was time and thanks to the help of Author Design Services we got it done and went live in under a week. Yes I really work that way once I’ve made up my mind to something. I just do it. God help the rest of the world when I’m on mission. I could seriously go on and on I love talking about Ebook Addict Reviews. It is my baby, but I’ll spare you all the baby picture J LOL
5) How would an author get you to review his/her book?
If they send an e-mail to me at ebookaddict@bellsouth.net with the name of the book they’d like reviewed, along with the blurb, we will do our best to match their book with one of our reviewers. Once we have a reviewer for the book I will send them an e-mail requesting the book.
6) Who would you choose to have a menage with? (Yes, you have to answer. Both Anne and Lexxie did. )
Hmmm… First let me say I love you Mikey (that is my husband) But I want to have a ménage with Joe Morelli and Ranger. *sigh* Yep, you guessed it folks I am a Stephanie Plum junkie. Joe and Ranger are my heroes!
Hey you’re the one who said this was imaginary J LOL
7) Who are the last two people on earth you’d choose to have a threesome with?
Hmm I’m not really sure I know… I mean if I wouldn’t have a threesome with them should I really know who they’d be J LMAO Actually I could think of two people but I’m SO SO SO not going there so um… on to the next question….
(Not from Jess: I find it unacceptable that T did not answer this. Doesn’t she know we really wanna know?)
The best review you’ve ever written. Wanna share it?
I’m not sure I know what my best one is, or I’m the one to ask, but two books come to mind. Maybe not as my best reviews, but as two of my favorite reads. You can read each review by clicking on them. Texas Surrender by Claire Thompson and More by Sloan Parker. These two reads make an impression that sticks with you. I’d like to think my reviews did them justice, but I guess that is a decision the reader would have to make.
9) Are you running a contest this week?
Yes actually I have a few contests this week!
Amanda Young is giving away a copy of her new release Reckless Heart on Monday,
D.W. Marchwell is giving away a copy of Good To Know,
Claire Thompson is offering a copy of Safe In His Arms, when it has been released.
I’m giving away a small gift bag from Bath & Body Works and some miscellaneous promotional items.
Check out my website or leave a comment at International Heat to go into the draw to win one of these wonderful prizes.

Thank you, T!

Raising The Stakes – Coming Soon from Samhain
Oh, my God. How could I not have blogged about this already? Such exciting news, and I forgot to mention it.
D-uh!
Samhain has contracted another book of mine!
Raising The Stakes is a M/F/M novella, and…it’s the sequel to Going All In.
I don’t have a formal blurb yet, but here’s the informal one:
Raising The Stakes:
It’s taken Desmond Reed four years to finally see what’s been right in front of him all this time: his best friend, Megan Loxley. But he’s waited too long. Megan has fallen in love with his poker buddy, Alex Truman.
Des wants to intervene. He wants to grab hold of Meggy and haul her as far away from Alex as he can get her. Only Alex isn’t letting Megan go for all the chips on the table.
The stakes are huge. Des can play his hand and reveal his cards, but he runs the risk of losing his best friend forever—or of winning the biggest jackpot of his life.
Who would have imagined Megan could raise the stakes even higher?
Now Des has a choice. Stick around and play by Megan’s rules, or forfeit his hand—the woman he loves—to another man?
Warning: This book contains a few moves never before seen in a game of poker, m/f and m/f/m loving hot enough to steam up your computer screen, and a couple of heroes you’d just love to stake for yourself.
————————-
Raising The Stakes releases in December, and I cannot wait!
Jess
Meet the Heat welcomes: Anne Rainey
Yep, we said we had a surprise, and here she is! The newest member of International Heat…
ANNE RAINEY!
Welcome, welcome, welcome to International Heat. We are so excited to have Anne join the crew. Well, do you blame us? Have you read her books yet? They are brilliant!
So, like with Lexxie, I put together a couple of questions to ask Anne. I figured it would be way cooler for her to tell you all the info, rather than hear it from me second hand.
Here’s Anne…
Jess
—————
1) Anne Rainey: Pen name or real name?
Pen name. Writing hot stories is fun, but it means I need to be all mysterious and crap. lol
2) If it’s your pen name, how did you come up with it?
I had about five different combinations. My cousin picked the one he liked best and I went with it.
3) Tell us about your books.
I write contemporary romance. Some are very erotic, but most fall under the steamy category. My characters are regular people. Construction workers, bookstore owners, mechanics, coffee shop owners. They’re us really! Muddling their way through a relationship and hoping to find their very own happily-ever-after.
4) You write searing hot erotic contemporary romance. Any other genres you’d try your hand at?
I’ve written one vampire romance titled “A Diamond at Midnight”, which can be found at The Wild Rose Press. I’m planning another titled ‘A Taste of Mary”. It’ll release in 2011 with Samhain Publishing. I’m open to any genre, with the exception of historical romance. I just don’t have what it takes to write historical.
5) Which is your personal fave of all your books, and why?
Ah, that would be “Forbidden Fruit”. Ava, the heroine, is a total tomboy. The hero inadvertently makes her feel ugly and so she gets revenge. I can relate to Ava because I was always the tomboy. “Forbidden Fruit” will forever be special to me. (Note from Jess: You’ll find an excerpt of Forbidden Fruit at the bottom of this post.)
6) My fave question: You have to have a menage with any two people. (Yep, someone’s holding a gun to your head.) Who are they?
Quentin Elias and Jason Statham. Both are sexy as sin and yes, bald. So hot!
7) What’s coming soon from Anne Rainey?
What She Wants is coming August 3rd to Samhain Publishing. My first hero with a tattoo and he’s bald. ![]()
Here’s more about it:

(Note from Jess: Awesome, awesome cover!)
Summer just got a whole lot hotter…
Summer Chase has already loved and lost once and she has no intention of going through that pain again. But when a hunky Camaro driving P.I. shows up at her B & B looking for a room for the week, she sees something more than a hard-bodied guest. For the first time since her husband’s death, Summer’s sexual interest is awakening, and she’s not about to hit the snooze button!
Gage Knight is a P. I. in desperate need of a vacation. His impromptu trip to Cape May, New Jersey seems just what he needs to relax and unwind. But when he knocks on the door of Chase’s Bed & Breakfast and comes face to face with sexy owner, Summer Chase, relaxing drops to the bottom of his to-do list. Now all he wants is a tasty Summer treat, and he plans to take his time, savoring the curvaceous beauty one inch at a time.
Question is…can she watch Gage drive off into the sunset when the week comes to an end?
You can read an excerpt from What She Wants here.
8) Are you offering a prize this week on International Heat?
Yes! Comment on my blog posts this week. I’ll be picking three winners from the comments. They’ll have their pick of ONE of my current releases, ebook or print. Also, Friday, there’s a BONUS contest. I’m keeping that one under wraps until Friday though. Hehe!

Forbidden Fruit: An Excerpt
“You look incredible, Ava. Every man in this room wanted you the instant you walked through those doors. Including me, baby.”
Ava forced herself not to react to the heat and promise in his words. She had a few questions for him before things went too far.
Pushing back enough so she could look into his eyes, Ava nearly swallowed her tongue. He was so tall and she was all of five foot four. He made her feel more feminine than any skirt ever could. She pulled herself out of her wayward thoughts and asked, “What about the woman I saw you with a few minutes ago? Do you want her too?”
He frowned down at her, as if he had no idea who she was talking about. “Huh?”
Ava rolled her eyes. “Don’t tell me you don’t know! She practically flung herself at you.” He still looked bewildered, so she added, “Blonde. Tall. A chest that looks like maybe it’s been under a knife.”
Ah, there it was. Recognition at last. Mention boobs and a man’s memory suddenly became crystal clear. She wanted to smack him. She wanted to kiss him. Maybe she’d do both before the night was through.
“First off, I wasn’t with her. She came onto me. I turned her down. She’s not the woman that has my dick as hard as a damned tire iron right now, Ava; that would be you.”
She stubbornly ignored the erection pressing against her belly—or tried to anyway—and narrowed her eyes on him. Luke wasn’t a one-woman man. He liked variety. A fact that had left her feeling raw on more than one occasion.
“Maybe she’s not the one you want right now, but I’m betting you jotted down her phone number.” She needed to know. At the very least, Ava needed to know that she was going to have his full attention tonight. If only for one night. Ava badly wanted to experience the whole of Luke McGiffin. Preferably before reality came crashing back in on her with all its merciless force.
“I told her I wasn’t interested. She wrote her number on my hand by her own volition, but I went to the bathroom and washed it off.”
He held out the hand in question. Even in the darkly lit nightclub, Ava could see the smudged ink. She shrugged, secretly pleased that he’d washed off the hussy’s phone number before coming to her.
Luke’s hand grasped her waist and her heart skipped a beat as his heat seeped through the silk of her blouse. “If it hadn’t been for that little pit stop, I would have been the one dancing with you instead of Pete and Griff,” he growled. Ava felt her blood sing in her veins, all at once on fire and raging out of control.
Another slow song picked up where the other left off. They moved to the music. Ava let her mind drift in the sensual haze Luke weaved around them. After a few minutes, she became aware that he’d somehow maneuvered them down a long empty hallway, well away from everyone else. It was dark, shadowed, and not quite as loud in this part of the nightclub.
Luke tipped her head up, his blue-eyed heat all but demanding her undivided attention. “Come home with me, Ava. Let your guard down for just this once and come home with me.”
“Because you’ve seen my legs, Luke?” She was desperate to scream ‘yes!’ The sickening truth of it was she’d follow him anywhere. But she was just woman enough to want to know which version of Ava Sweet he wanted. The tomboy animal lover or the skirt and strappy sandals version she’d created just for him. “You can see that I’m a flesh and blood woman so now I’m worthy of your attention? Is that it?”
Luke’s hand tightened on her jaw and she winced. He loosened his fingers a fraction, but didn’t let her go. “I told you on the phone I’d seen past the clothes a long time ago,” Luke chastised. And then in a much softer tone, “My comments to Pete hurt you. I’m sorry, baby. But damn it all, I didn’t want him thinking of you in a sexual way. I don’t want any man thinking of you in that way. Only me. Don’t let my big mouth ruin what we could have.” His tone went as soft as velvet sliding over her skin. “We’ll be good together. I know it in my bones. You know it too. Let me make you feel good.”
He didn’t wait for her answer. Luke’s head swooped down as he took her mouth in a scorching show of possession and need.
Ava did the only thing she could in that space of time. She dug her hands into the luxurious softness of Luke McGiffin’s hair and hung on for the ride. No matter the reason for Luke’s sudden interest, she was being given a chance to make love to him. Ava wasn’t one to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Meet the Heat: Lexxie Couper
It’s week 2 of International Heat’s Meet the Heat festivities, and our spotlight is shining on Lexxie Couper.
This sweet, charming looking woman, who you just want to take in your arms and cuddle, is in fact as twisted as they come. Seriously. You read any of her books yet? Twisted! The thing is her books are also brilliant. The kind of book you cannot stop reading once you’ve started, because the horror and the eroticism – not to mention the incredible romance – suck you straight in and don’t let go until you’ve finished the last page. Even then, elements of her books stay with you for days as you ponder some of the scenes over and over.
I tried hard to describe Lex and to better define her work, but found it impossible, so I thought it would be better if she defined herself. I sent off a couple of questions for her to answer. Below are her responses, followed by an excerpt from my all time fave Lexxie Couper book, Savage Transformation, which releases later this year. (Yep, it’s the sequel to Savage Retribution, which was my literary introduction to Lexxie Couper.) PLUS, PLUS, PLUS… I have an exclusive preview of her cover too. It’s brand new, it’s stunning and it’s never been revealed before.
So….Meet Lexxie Couper…
1) Your pen name is Lexxie Couper. Why?
Lexxie comes from a very C grade, sex obsessed cult sci-fi tv show called The Lexx. The Lexx was a bio-mechanical spaceship that was also the most powerful weapon in the known universes. Man, I got hooked on that show. When my first submission was accepted (Shifting Lust with Changeling Press) I was in the middle of a Lexx bender, hence Lexxie
Couper comes from one of my best friends who has always believed I’d one day be a famous author and has read just about everything I’ve written.
2) You write dark, twisted and incredibly sexy paranormal romance. Do your books reflect the real you?
LMAO If I say yes, are you going to be scared of me? Wait, you also said incredibly sexy, didn’t you? Well, in that case, yes, yes they do
3) Why dark, twisted paranormal romance? (I happen to know you’re equally talented at writing contemporary, erotic romance.)
Okay, firstly thank you *smooch* Secondly, I honestly have no idea. I love reading scary books (Stephen King has been my favorite author since I was in Year Five). When I was in high school I wanted to be the Australian version of King, but I’m also an incredible romantic. I sincerely and completely believe in true love and happy ever afters. Being scared and being in love so deeply your heart aches are not that far apart on an emotional and physical scale, you know. Both make your heart race, both make your palm sweat and both make you cherish life. Okay, that sounds really weird. Maybe I really am a dark, twisted person after all?
4) Which is you favorite Lexxie Couper book?
Oh this is a hard question. Ummm….I think Death, The Vamp and His Brother. The notion of making the Grim Reaper not only a female but my heroine, and have her fight to SAVE lives, as well as fall in love with an Aussie…well, it tickles my funny bone
(Note from Jess: Death, The Vamp and his Brother released this month in print at Samhain Publishing. Click here to purchase in print, or here to purchase the ebook.
5) Who is you fave Australian?
On a sexual level – Hugh Jackman or Eric Bana (both at once would be nice *grin*). On a more grown-up, responsible level – Dick Smith. What Dick Smith has done for this country as not only a business man, but as a philanthropist is both awe-inspiring and heart warming. His patriotism for Australia makes me proud and his unwavering love of this country and belief it can be an even better place to call home for everyone moves me to be a better Aussie myself. (betcha didn’t expect that answer, did you? lol)
6) If you had to have a menage with two people, who would they be? (And yes, you have to answer).
My husband (of course) and David Tennant (he of Dr. Who fame). If I exclude my husband and have a totally fantasy ménage (because David Tennant’s going to jump in my bed the second he visits Australia *snort*) I’d go with David Tennant (still. Yes, I’m that much in lust with him) and Robert Downey Jr in Tony Stark/Iron Man mode ![]()
7) If you had to have a menage with two Australians, who would they be?
Oh, Eric Bana and Hugh Jackman. Wait, i forgot to list my husband just then, didn’t I?
One of your ex-pupils (from your teaching days) approaches you to say they found your books at Amazon – and read them. How do you respond?
Laugh my arse off. Then ask then to write me a five page essay comparing and contrasting it to Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice
SAVAGE TRANSFORMATION: The Blurb
The Second Book in the Savage Australia trilogy
Sydney Detective, Jackie Huddart’s gone home to visit her childhood friend in Tasmania, the smallest state in Australia. The trouble is, her childhood friend seems to be missing, and someone wants Jackie to find her. Someone who knows exactly what Jackie is.
As Jackie begins the hunt to find her friend, she is joined by the very mysterious and way-too-sexy Riley Wilson, a man who seems to have just as many secrets as she. Which may explain why Jackie feels like she is the one being hunted. But by who?
(Note from Jess: See? I told you the cover was stunning.)
SAVAGE TRANSFORMATION: An Exclusive Sneak Peak
Marshall Rourke’s groin wouldn’t listen to him. It stiffened in immediate interest the second Jackie Huddart turned to face him, the pit of his belly joining in the fun. That his body reacted so quickly to the woman was a problem, that his inner beast enjoyed the entirely carnal reaction more so.
This hadn’t been part of his plan.
Yeah. Sure. That’s why you packed your black silk boxer shorts.
Forcing aside the desire to step closer to Jackie, press his nose to her neck and take a deep breath, he stood motionless. He needed her to digest what he’d just said before anything else. She would react two ways, of that he had little doubt: one, she wouldn’t believe him, two, she’d break down and beg him to help her find her friend. The standard response to an announcement such as his.
Unreadable eyes the color of ancient amber studied him. Her hands clenched into fists at her side.
Here it comes. The rejection. The denial.
Without a word, she turned on her heel and walked away, heading towards the bright green VW in which she and Delanie McKenzie had arrived.
Marshall raised his eyebrows. Okay, that wasn’t what he’d expected.
“Hey?” he called, following her. “Did you hear me?”
The woman didn’t respond. Her shoulders snapped straight under the black cotton of her shirt, the fists swinging by her sides balling tighter.
“Hey,” he repeated, increasing his speed to keep up with her. Damn, she was quick for someone so friggen short. And still in human form. “Hey! Didn’t you hear what I-”
She turned. So fast he didn’t see her move. One minute he was admiring the graceful beauty of her back, the next, he was flat on his back, the heel of her shoe pressing into the base of his neck as she rammed her foot against his collarbone.
Holy smokes, how did she do that?
“I’m going to give you two options, Mr. Rourke.” Her voice was even and smooth, like buttered whisky. She glared down the length of her petite body at him, eyes still unreadable, heel pressing harder to his throat. “You can tell me exactly where my friend is, or I can call the cops and have your Texan arse thrown into jail.”
A cold ribbon of unease unfurled in Marshall’s chest. It wouldn’t do for the local authorities to be made aware of his presence in the country. He wasn’t in Australia on official business. In fact, he wasn’t on official business period. If his boss found out where he was, he’d face the dressing down of a lifetime, with a suspension and possible confinement period thrown in for good measure. The P.A.C. Unit Director had no tolerance for agents doing their own thing, no matter how right that thing was.
He shifted underneath Jackie’s foot, the asphalt biting into his shoulder blades as he did so.
Jackie’s heel shoved harder still to his neck, pressing on his windpipe and he stopped moving. “Time’s running out, Mr. Rourke.”
A low growl deep in his dual existence rumbled through his chest. He may be experiencing an increasing level of discomfort, but his beast, the ancient, primal creature that it was, seemed highly amused by his situation. And aroused.
Marshall stopped himself from rolling his eyes. Great. Just what he needed. A horny, laughing dire wolf tainting his judgment.
Shouldn’t have put the idea of Jackie Huddart as a sex object in its primitive, instincts-driven head then, should you. That’ll teach you to pack silk boxer shorts.
He ground his teeth. “Listen,” he began, but her driving heel cut him short. Christ, she was going to asphyxiate him with her goddamn size six shoe.
Amber eyes regarded him. “Thirty seconds, Mr. Rourke.”
“I know what you are.”
Jackie’s eyes widened – a fraction. “And what am I, Mr. Rourke?”
He looked up at her, her heel making it difficult to breathe, her sweet subtle scent making his want to drag in breath after breath after breath. “A were-Thylacine.”
Jackie Huddart didn’t move. She became a statue, her stare fixed on him, her knuckles white. “A werewhat?”
Despite the heel cutting off his air supply, Marshall grinned. She was good at hiding her surprise. With a face like hers – stunningly gorgeous and completely expressionless – she’d win a lotta poker matches. “A were-Thylacine,” he croaked, curling his fingers around her ankle in a tight grip. If he needed to he’d flip her off him. “A shape-shifting Tasmanian Tiger.”
Her poker-face didn’t change. Neither did the position of her foot. “I think you’ve been watching too many movies, Mr. Rourke. This is Australia, not Transylvania.”
He gave her another grin, the discomfort in his lungs beginning to turn into a painful burn. This was not how he saw this unfolding. “Transylvania is traditionally the home to vampires, Ms Huddart.” He shifted slightly, the minute action earning him a sharp increase in pressure on his throat. “Australia however, is the home to many vampires and werewolves, Declan O’Connell being one of them.” Her eyes widened again – the reaction to the Irish alpha wolf’s name almost undetectable. She was good at hiding her emotions. Very good. But he was better at exposing them. He pressed his fingers harder to her ankle, the fine bones like hot steel under his grip. “Tasmania however,” he continued, preparing his body, his beast, for whatever came next, “is the native habitat of the shape-shifting Thylacine. To be precise, the last shape-shifting Thylacine.” He let her see his teeth in a grin he knew was borderline wolfish. “You.”
Once again, her reaction surprised him. He expected to be attacked. Or for her to shift into her other form and then attack. What he didn’t expect was for her to remove her foot from his neck and step back away from him.
He snapped to his feet, brushing down his backside, still half convinced she was going to throw herself at him with that same preternatural speed she had before.
Could be fun.
He looked at her, ignoring the suggestive comment, as enticing as it was. Having Jackie Huddart throw her tiny little body at him in the right circumstances was down right appealing.
“Tell me where my friend is.”
Her voice was cold. Very calm, almost indifferent, but cold all the same. She stared at him, fists bunched, her small frame radiating an energy he understood all too well: pent-up fury and tenuous restraint. She was having difficulty controlling her inner beast. A state of being he existed in twenty-four seven.
Especially since Einar’s “retirement.”
The dark thought extinguished the rising heat in Marshall’s body and he grit his teeth. His ex-partner was never long from his mind. Nor were the man’s actions since P.A.C. “let” him go. Daeved Einar’s activities were not only thoroughly documented by the Paranormal Anti-Crime Unit, they were classified Security Level Red. That he knew about them at all would be grounds for immediate dismissal.
That he’d contributed to Einar’s freedom was an atrocity he could never forget.
“Where is my friend?”
Jackie Huddart’s low growl snapped Marshall’s mind from his ex-partner with a start. He focused not only his gaze, but his senses on the woman standing before him. The fingers of her right hand were wriggling. What did that mean?
You will have the time to figure that out. If she falls for this next bit.
“I can’t tell you that, darlin’.” She stiffened at the word and he tucked the reaction away for further analysis. “But I can take you to her. If we leave now.”
“You can tell me where she is, or I can arrest your arse and charge you with aiding and abetting an abduction.” Her eyes flashed gold fire. “Since you know so much about me, you know what I do for a living. Unless you want to share a cell with an ‘Australian native’ big enough to break you in two with his bare hands I’d suggest you start talking now.”
The pit of Marshall gut tightened. His inner beast growl. He studied her, weighing his options. He needed her. More than she needed him. He had little doubt she’d find Delanie McKenzie without his aid, but would he be able to find Daeved Einar without her?
You haven’t been able to so far.
He ground his teeth. Fuck.
Pulling in a steadying breath, Jackie’s delicate scent tickling his olfactory nerves until his balls grew tight, he stepped forward. Play it cool Rourke, or you’ve lost her.
“I can’t tell you, Detective Huddart,” he said, emphasizing her rank, “but you need to believe me when I say, if we don’t go now, the person who has taken Delanie will have her skinned and gutted before the cops can even think about putting out an APB.”
The brutal description drained the blood from Jackie’s face. The first true reaction he’d elicited from her. Her jaw bunched and she stepped toward him, closing the small distance he’d left between them. He wished she hadn’t. Her unique scent, unlike any he’d tasted before, filled his breath and his balls, already heavy with a carnal interest grew heavier. Oh, boy, he hadn’t counted on this.
“Who are you, Mister Rouke?” Her heat folded around him, a thrumming contradiction to the icy rage in her eyes. “If I’m to trust my best friend’s life in your oh, so mysterious hands, at least tell me who you are.”
He looked down into her face. A gentle wind blew at her hair, lifting the burnished chestnut curtain from her temples and his chest squeezed. This close, he could see the faint smattering of freckles across her nose. This close he could see the gold chips in her eyes. This close he could see the fine bone structure of her skull, the soft fullness of her lips.
This close, his inner beast could feel the ancient magick of hers.
Feel and crave.
Damn it, he hadn’t counted on this at all. “I’m no threat to you. That’s all I can tell you.” It was a lie – he was a threat. At least, what he was doing threatened her life, but he couldn’t think about that now.
She studied him; face expressionless, eyes conflicted. She wanted to tell him to go to hell, but the fate of her friend held her tongue. The fingers of her right hand wriggled. “You have exactly thirty minutes. After that, if Delanie is not standing before me safe and well, I will call the cops.” She paused. “Or tear your throat out.”
Again, his inner dire wolf reacted to her – a deep, base reaction. It wanted her. It wanted to mate with her.
And so does your inner man, Rourke. Fess up.

Letting off steam
It’s not often I get so irate I blog about it.
But then it’s not often someone emotionally abuses a sick woman who happens to be my mother.
For the last 18 odd months, my mum has had a godawful disease that’s slowly robbed her of her ability to move and speak intelligibly. Now she can do neither. She does however have every one of her mental faculties, and is as lucid today as she was twenty years ago. Our only means of communication? A small plastic board with letters on it (an E-Tran Board). She looks at each letter and slowly spells out whatever it is she wants to say. It’s time consuming and it’s tedious, but the option is to sit silently and not communicate at all.
My mum lives in a nursing home, where as a whole the care is excellent. She has a wonderful team of assistant nurses looking after her, and we love them. They treat her like the woman she once was, and not the invalid she’s become. They treat her with dignity and respect. But every now and again, someone comes on board who doesn’t quite get it. Who thinks that because a patient is disabled, they can do or say whatever they like – and need never worry about the repercussions. Well, hey, if a patient can’t answer back, who better to abuse?
My mum hasn’t been well this week. Over and above her godawful disease, she’s a little sick, so she needs a little more care than usual. Hey, we all get sick. And we all need a little extra care when we’re sick. At the best of times, my mother feels guilty for needing to be cared for. She hates taking up another person’s precious time. When she’s unwell like she’s been this week, the guilt of needing extra care eats her alive.
This particular assistant nurse obviously agrees that my mum is more trouble than she’s worth. How do we know? She went into my mother’s room and told her as much. I wonder if she took pleasure from telling my chronically and acutely ill mother she “was wasting everyone’s time,” “she’s a burden to have around” and (the cherry on the top) “all the nursing staff hate her.” I wonder if after she’d said all of that, she enjoyed hearing my mother’s devastated sobs echoing through the corridor. I wonder if she felt better for having gotten it off her chest.
I also wonder how she’ll feel when she discovers the patient who cannot answer back can still explain the situation to us. And she did.
I’d like to be there to witness that special moment.
But I won’t be. You see, as much as I would love the chance to confront this woman, and as much as I’d like to get everything I’m feeling about her off my chest, I would never destroy another person’s self worth like she destroyed my mother’s. In this case, I’ll leave the task to her supervisors.
And now I’m going to make myself a cup of tea and try and calm down.

Meet the Heat: Rhian Cahill
Psst, if you’re reading this, don’t let Rhian (RC) know I posted it. She’s a little crazy strict. If she knew I were busy on my blog and not working on my current book, she’d beat get very angry with me. So don’t tell her. Okay?
She’s a funny one, that Rhian. She looks so sweet (Tall, slim, legs that won’t quit), then she opens her mouth, and you know she’s anything but. Read her books, and well, let’s just say sweet is about the last word you’d use to describe them.
Hawt, passionate, sexy, emotional… A million other words would go down better. Yep, RC may not be sweet, but she’s the kinda lady you want on your side, and her books are the kind you want on your eReader. They’re all keepers.
You in trouble? RC will be at your side the second you mention it. Want someone to fight your battles? RC’s there for you. Need a helping hand? Grab RC’s. You can rest assured it’s well within your reach. Need some info about the erotic romance writing industry? RC is a fountain. Or just looking for a lovely time with the warmest, kindest person on earth? RC’s your girl.
This woman is a wonder, and I’ve come to love her loads.I’ve come to love her books too, from her short, hot flings at Noble Romance, to her new, blockbusting Coyote Hunger Series at Ellora’s Cave.
I’m probably going to give her another reason to beat get angry with me, but it just so happens, I have a copy of her as yet, unpublished, brand new book, Coyote Wild (The second in the Coyote Hunger Series.) and I am about to post a leetle snippet for you. Just a very leetle one, but the most nb one – her opening page!
Oh, and if you’re wondering if the book’s worth reading, well, do me a favor – and judge it by it’s exquisite cover:
Coming From Ellora’s Cave on June the 18th
The blurb
Book Two in the Coyote Hunger series.
Brogan Wilder knows all about animal urges. As a coyote shifter, he’s lived with them all his life but he’s never experienced the bone-deep hunger Eloise Crawford elicits. Claiming a mate is one thing. Claiming one who’s human and has no idea shifters exist is another matter altogether. In El, he’s found his destiny. Now he just has to convince her they are meant to be together.
A visit to help her best friend with wedding plans seems like just the kind of relaxation El is after. But once she arrives, there’s nothing relaxing about the reaction she has to her friend’s brother. Suddenly her senses are on high alert and she’s drawn to him in a way she finds nothing short of terrifying. But there’s more to this man than his golden eyes and magical touch. There’s something else. Something not exactly human.
Accepting her fate should have been the difficult part, but when El finds herself the target of an outraged pack member, the true struggle begins.
Chapter One
Need slammed into Brogan Wilder like a two-by-four to the gut. He knew lust, dealt with it when it rose, but this…
This was unlike anything he’d ever experienced. The beast inside chafed at the chains of restraint, snarled and snapped to be let free.
Brogan searched the room but nothing he could see should have him ready to shift. His sister, Rowan sat on the sofa, his best friend and her fiancé beside her. They were the only others in the room. The fine hairs on the back of his neck stood at attention and the blood in his veins heated and pumped harder. Whatever had his instincts screaming to take, to possess, had moved closer.
Skin grew tight and hot as he fought with his inner beast. Shifting wasn’t an option. Not yet. First he needed all his human skills to determine what had the power to do this to him. Then he’d have to decide if it was friend or foe. He sniffed the air, tried to place the feminine scent teasing his senses. It wasn’t Rowan or any other female he knew.
“For pity’s sake, Brogan, sit down. You’re making me nervous and I know you’re all bark and no bite. If you don’t relax you’ll scare El right back to Australia.” Rowan’s words broke into his agitated thoughts.
“What?” He tried to focus on his sister and what she was saying.
“Eloise. She’ll be coming down from her room any minute and I want you to be on your best behavior. It took months of nagging and pleading to get her to agree to come out for the wedding. I want her to enjoy herself and not regret saying yes.”
Rowan pushed off the lounge and came to stand beside him. Placing her hand on his arm she said, “Please, Brogan. She’s the best friend I’ve had since Gordie, the only friend. She likes me. Not Brogan’s sister.”
Brogan looked at her. She was all grown up, ready to face her destiny but not without scars. They all had them but Rowan would have more if it wasn’t for Eloise Crawford. He knew their friendship had been what kept his sister from going mad the few years she’d been forced to live away from home. He sucked in a deep breath and let it out slowly.
“Okay, I’ll try. But something’s got the beast’s hackles up and I can’t figure out what.” He’d never hidden any of the ugly side of who or what he was from Rowan and he wouldn’t do it now.
“Rowan?”
A musical voice with a strange sultry accent came at the instant his beast went on red alert and yanked at Brogan’s control.
He couldn’t keep the growl inside, or stop the change in his eyes that Rowan wouldn’t miss. If Brogan’s instincts were right, his mate had just stepped into the room.

If you’d like an opportunity to win a prize from RC, head on over to her current post at International Heat, and leave a comment.
If you’re too busy catching up on all her books, don’t worry. She’ll understand.
