Only Tyler is a Bestseller!
I’m very excited to report Only Tyler is a bestseller at Samhain.Yep, it took a couple of days to hit the bestseller list, but it’s been there now since Thursday, so I’m happy.
This is what the bestseller chart at MBaM looks like today:

- 9. Fortune’s Promise by Karen Erickson
- 10. Second Chances by Denise Belinda McDonald
I’ve received some amazing feedback from readers. (Thank you to those of you who let me know you enjoyed the book so much.) Here’s what some of them had to say:
“I had the chance to read Only Tyler. I loved it! I can be an extremely picky reader and I usually do not like “he left me but now he’s back” kind of stories because I have a hard time warming up to the hero. But even before I knew the truth of why he left I found myself wanting her to give him another chance. Which drove me crazy because I loved Steve too! Can’t wait to see how you do his story!” (Melissa, from Joyfully Reviewed.)
“Just got done reading Only Tyler…I must say it was awesome and well worth the wait!! I started it and couldn’t stop until I finished and now I can’t wait for Steve’s!!” (Maggie J)
“…O.M.G.
Jess Dee is a wonder. That was amazing.
I really wondered how she was going to pull it off but the story is hot, tender, sweet, sexy, makes you frustrated, makes you weepy, makes you SWEAT!
I now have another ‘re-read’ story in my files AND…
I’m dying for the sequel, Steve’s Story. All I can say is I’m glad it’s already on the ‘Coming Soon’ pages or there would be heads rolling. Waiting is going to be so hard!!!!
THANKS for writing Only Tyler. WOW!” (Vivian Arend, Author, posted at the Samhain Cafe.)
“I loved Only Tyler. It was hot, sexy, and completely Riveting. It comes with one of my highest recommendations. I couldn’t put it down till I read the last page. You have turned into a must buy for me, Jess .” (Sandie, Moderator at the Samhain Cafe.)
“Jess Dee, I have a bone to pick with you! April! I mean seriously! What were you thinking? Okay maybe the general public can wait that long for Steve but I’m special. Right?
” (Joy, Moderator at the Samhain Cafe, who has now kidnapped Tyler and made him a part of her harem of hot, dangerous, sexy heroes.)
Thank you, everyone, for taking the time to buy and read Only Tyler.

Only Tyler Contest Winners
Thank you to all of you who entered the Only Tyler new release contest.I’m happy to announce that I received such cool answers, I couldn’t be subjective enough to judge them all. So, a third party did the honors:
The winner of a $10 book voucher from My Bookstore and more is Deb.
And the winner of a $10 book voucher from Books on Board, is Dayanna.
Congrats to both of you. I hope you enjoy your shopping!
I wanted to share one contest entry I received. I thought it was brilliant. However the contestant had an unfair advantage of being an author herself, so I made the undemocratic decision of excluding her from the contest. Don’t worry. She was cool with it, I swear. Okay, yes, I had to bribe her first, but then she was cool about it.
Anyway, here is Vivian Arend’s brilliant answer to the question: Why should you win the vouchers?
I Intriguing issues impact intelligence incredibly.
N Naturally naughty nuance nabs noteworthy niche.
E Excellent education equals extreme eloquence.
E Endlessly eccentric endeavors entertain enthusiastically.
D Dangerous desires delight and de-stress dozens of dazzling damsels.
B Brawny bicep bulging balances brilliant brains. Beautiful!
O Otherworldly opportunities occur to ordinary occupants.
O Outrageous oracy opened one’s outstanding ovations.
K Knowing keyword kibosh’s kill? Kudos! Knowledge kicks.
S Seductive sensuality stimulates spectacular success.
Lol, isn’t it brilliant?
(Altho I’m not exactly sure what ‘outrageous oracy opened one’s outstanding ovations’ means. But the rest is brilliant!)

Now Available: Only Tyler
I am ridiculously happy to announce that Only Tyler, the first book in the Circle of Friends Series, is now officially available at Samhain.
To buy the book you can head on over to My Bookstore and More or Books on Board.

Circle of Friends: Only Tyler
Love…or friendship? Does she really have to choose?
Katelyn Rosewood is facing a moral dilemma, one that’s six-foot-two, sexy as sin—and her fiancé’s best friend. Katie spent a lot of time getting over Tyler Bonnard, but now that he’s back in Sydney, he’s turning her carefully reconstructed world upside down.
Her relationship with Steve Sommers may be short on heat and desire, but after Tyler left her two years before, she’ll take security and solid friendship over wild passion any day. Except Tyler seems to have a good—if outrageous—explanation for why he’s returned.
After a tragic family secret tore him out of Katie’s life, Tyler is glad to be back with his two best friends. But one thing is out of place: Katie’s in the wrong man’s arms. And if her reaction to his return is any indication, she’s not quite over him. Which could mean hope for Tyler, heartbreak for Steve…
And another devastating loss for Katie, who must choose between the man to whom she’s committed her future, and the man who still holds her heart.
Warning: Keep a tissue or two handy while reading this book. While it does contain a few steamy love scenes, the rest of the story might just make you cry.
Steve’s Story, Book 2 in the series, will be available on the 28th of April, 2009.
To celebrate the release of Only Tyler, I’m giving away two lovely prizes:
1) A $10 gift voucher from MBaM
2) A $10 gift voucher from BooksonBoard
Entering is real simple.
Just email me at:
And tell me why you’d like to win.
I’ll pick the two most creative answers, so don’t be shy to think up something weird, wild or wonderful!
The contest closes on Friday, the 23rd of Jan.
GOOD LUCK!

Go on. Admit. It is incredible.

Yay for Scott Carpenter and his brilliance!
So what is Steve’s Story? Very simple. It’s the second book in the Circle of Friends Series. Here’s the blurb:
When love is threatened by truth, every moment counts…
Steve Sommers is having a gut-wrenching week. His fiancée has left him, the woman who broke his heart is back in town—and they’re all gathered at the bedside of his best friend, who’s in a coma. The emotional ties between them are strained to the breaking point. Like it or not, it’s up to Steve to find the strength and compassion to support the four of them through the toughest ordeal of their lives.
In the midst of the turmoil and trauma, passion unexpectedly flares anew between Steve and the woman he loves. Suddenly the future he’d believed lost lies within his reach. But she still carries the secret that once tore them apart, and determined to protect Steve from the truth, she fights their rekindled relationship every step of the way.
Now the fragile bond they’ve developed hangs in the balance, threatened by a reality that love may not be strong enough to overcome…
Warning: This book might just make you cry, but it’ll make you smile as well. The story will probably get you all hot and bothered too. It contains naughty activities in the car, sex on the kitchen counter (and up against the wall), a quickie in the garden—oh, and some hot loving in the bedroom.
Steve’s Story releases at Samhain Publishing on the 28th of April.

Look what I just found…
The new video from Jason Mraz and Colbie Callait: “Lucky”
I know, I know. I’m pathetic. I can’t get enough of Jason Mraz. Honestly, if I could curl up in his voice and live there, I would.
Do yourself a favor. Have a listen to this song. It is beautiful.
See? Told you. It’s beautiful.

Kudos to Jennifer (my editor)

Don’t know about you, but I am one of those who loves tackling the first round of edits. It’s a chance for me to see my book in a whole new light – through my editor’s eyes. And I gotta say, my ed, Jennifer, picks up things I would never in a million years notice. I can’t wait to read through her notes and comments, because I know there will be some startling revelations in there, issues that’ll change parts of my books completely. Okay, yeah, sometimes it takes a while to accept she’s right. (And let me tell you, she is always, unfailingly, unerringly right.) It’s simply a matter of coming to terms with someone else’s opinion of my baby.
So why am I telling you all this now? I guess because I am in deep edit. Have to return to my cave soon to complete the first round for Circle of Friends: Steve’s Story. There are a LOT of rewrites. A very lot. Lordy, I have to rewrite an entire love scene – chop out some very hot stuff and then add in some other very hot stuff. I even have to rewrite most of the last chapter. Then there are several thousand grammatical changes to be made, and don’t even get me started on my incorrect use of commas. Honestly, Jennifer could write an encyclopedia on my incorrect usage of that one little punctuation mark.
So hopefully I’ll be poking my head out of the cave soon, with the news that first round is finished. I’ll also nip out to post the cover for this story. Once again, Scott Carpenter has done a truly astounding job. The cover is gorgeous, hot and sexy. Just waiting for the final one to come through and I’ll display it to the world.
In the meantime, thank you, Jennifer. For helping me to make my books the best they can be.
