Dee-liciously Sexy Romance

Meet the Heat: JR Patrick

This week we welcome JR Patrick to the spotlight.

LOL, JR is very cool, and super to the point. Read on. You’ll understand whatI mean.

JR’s Interview:

1) JR Patrick: Pen name or real name.

Pen name

2) If it’s a pen name, where did it come from?

I won’t tell you that but I will say that Patrick is one of my hubby’s names. ;)

3) How long have you been writing for?

About a year.

4) How did you get into writing erotic romance?

Jambrea Jo Jones made me. :D

5) What is your preferred genre?

m/m romance. It’s what I love to read most so that my first story idea was m/m made perfect sense.

6) Tell us about your books.

I have a short story, Only Yours, available at Dreamspinner Press. (Psst…it’s discounted until Wednesday).

Here’s the blurb:

When Dre asks his boyfriend Nate to move in, Nate leaves in the night without a word. Dre thinks he pushed too hard too fast, but the truth is a little more complicated. Nate is afraid Dre would dump him if Dre knew about his job in adult entertainment. Six months later, Dre is still beating himself up over scaring Nate away when they meet again… at a club where Nate works.

The idea for this story came from a unusually vivid dream I had. I was telling Jambrea about the dream and joked that it sounded like a story. She said, dead serious, “Write it!” And the rest was history.

7) Are you working on anything new?

Yes. I’m co-authoring an m/m romance with Jambrea. We’re only about halfway done so nothing much to share there yet. :)

8) Who would you rather have a threesome with? George Bush Jr and Sr, or Obama and Clinton? ;)

That’s a no-brainer. lol Obama and Clinton of course.

9) Who would you choose to have a threesome with? (It can be any two people in the whole world, and yes, you have to answer!)

Eric and Alcide. No! Jason Statham and Daniel Crag! Wait! Can I have a five-some instead?  (If you don’t know immediately who Eric and Alcide are, I’m truly sorry for your ignorance. hehe)

(Note from Jess. Sorry. Eric is all mine and only mine, and you may not have a threesome or fivesome with him. Ever. Pick someone else. NOW.)

10) Will there ever be world peace?

Nope, because there will always be greedy people.

11) You’re out shopping and come across that one item you know you have to have, regardless of price. What is it?

Sorry, this one stumped me. Probably because me “out shopping” is very rare. lol

12) Are you offering a prize for your Meet the Heat week??
There will be prizes throughout the week and  a grand prize on Saturday which includes a $10 All Romance ebooks gift certificate.

A Quick excerpt from Only Yours.

(For the rest of this excerpt, check out International Heat, and the other members blogs!)

The crackle of a wrapper opening sounded. The second dancer sheathed himself—one inch at a time.

Oh. My. God. They were going to fuck.
The second dancer squirted liquid into his palm and stroked his covered cock. He curved his upper body over his partner’s shoulder. The shorter dancer turned his head and they kissed. And kissed. Dre closed his eyes against the image of the two men kissing; it reminded him of what he didn’t have. Shutting out the vision didn’t work as he saw Nate behind his closed lids. The sound of a sharply indrawn breath prompted him to open his eyes, only to see that the second dancer had positioned himself at the entrance before him, penetrating slowly. Dre groaned and knew it was aloud this time.

Fuck, I need to get laid.

Cover goodness

Ooh, I have a lovely cover to show off.

It’s from my Samhain print book, coming in Jan 2010, Risking It All.
Waddya think?

(Credit once again goes to Scott Carpenter.)

Haven’t heard about Risking It All yet? It’s an anthology of two novellas, Going All In and A Question of Love.

Here’s the blurb:

RISKING IT ALL

When it comes to love, it’s a safe bet you’ll lose your heart.

A Question of Love:

Four years ago Gabe Carter left Tina Jenkins as a matter of honor, destroying the passionate threesome they’d both enjoyed with Gabe’s best friend, Connor. Now Gabe’s back, armed with promises of love and forever. Picking up where they left off is tempting, but Tina wants the whole package—which includes Connor—and Gabe wants her all to himself. It’s up to Gabe to prove that he is the only man Tina will ever need.

Going All In:

Julia Savage’s weekly poker games are not the only thing she’s betting on. She’s also gambling on the love of two men. Hunter Miles and Jay Baxter are happy to double up and share both Julia’s affection and her body, but their attraction to each other may threaten the budding relationship between all three of them. Now it’s decision time: all or nothing?

Are you ready for a combination game this hot? Double up for a taste of the edgy world of Jess Dee.

Meet The Heat: Jambrea Jo Jones

Yep another week of Meet the Heat, another week of fab prizes up for grabs.

And this week, we’re getting to know JJJ – or Jambrea Jo Jones – just a little better.

I’ve taken the chance to interview her. Oh, and I’ve included an excerpt from her beautiful short story, Heart Song.

So please, read on… (Oh, and psst. She has funny taste in food. But don’t tell her I told you.)

BTW, JJJ has a few cool prizes on offer. If you wanna know more, read this blog, then head on over to International Heat.

So, welcome…JAMBREA:

1) When I met you, you were reviewing for Joyfully Reviewed. Did you enjoy that?

I loved reviewing. I was supposed to give it up for my writing, but that Joyous just keeps pulling me back in!

2) Now your books are the ones being reviewed. How does that feel?

I love that too. lol I like to see what people are saying and if they find something they don’t like, I try to make it better in my next book. :)

3) How many books do you have now?

Good think I have a reference guide for this. heehee There are ten.
Forever Guy in the One Touch One Glance Anthology From Freya’s Bower
Runaway Man from Freya’s Bower
Unseen Path from eXtasy
Unwinding Path from eXtasy
Heart Song from eXtasy
Semper Fi: Magnus from Liquid Silver
The Seeds of Dawn: Dreams in the Over the Moon Anthology from Total e-Bound
Stealing Michael in the Stealing my Heart Anthology from Total e-Bound
Retribution from Total E-Bound
Appealing Proposal from Ellora’s Cave

You can find more info about JJJ’s books on her website:

http://jambrea.com/

4) How many coming soons do you have?

I have two, right now, that are coming soon.
Love by Design from Total e-Bound
Steamy Reunion form Ellora’s Cave

5) Which is your favorite out of all your books and why?

This one is hard. I really like all of my books. I’ll pick two. One is m/f and one is m/m. My m/f favorite is Magnus because it is military and romantic suspense. Two things I love. Magnus is hot and Emily is tough and rocks. The m/m that is my favorite it Retribution. It’s sci-fi, another one of my loves. The two men have to go through a lot to fine their love.

6) Which heroine/hero do you think most closely resembles you?

Goodness. I think they each have a piece of me I don’t think I could pick one who is the most like me. I think I would most want to be like Emily. She has a dream job and get to get down and dirty with the marines.

7) What would you rather eat: onion and olive flavored ice cream or fried grasshoppers?

Um…gross! lol I’ll go with fried grasshoppers. I think I could crunch through those pretty quick and I’ve heard they are a delicacy.

8) Who would you choose to have a menage with? (Yes, you have to say!)

My characters? Rock and Zander um…they haven’t been written yet so I guess I’ll say Kain and Rave. You meet Rock in their story. I picked Rock and Zander because they are both bi and I like my boys to touch. Kain and Rave are gay…they might not like me joining in. heehee

9) Who would you least like to have a menage with?  (and yes, you have to answer.)

Ahhh….Jabba the Hut and one of his minions? heehee

Rafe lost his love, but did he really have it to begin with? He finds out more than he bargained for after the death of his ex-lover. Will he ever find the love he is looking for?

Excerpt:

The man’s voice sounded rough with tears. My heart ached for him. I may have lost an ex-lover, but he’d lost his father. I swung back around to face Charlie’s son. I didn’t say anything. I couldn’t. I looked at his face, so different from Charlie’s. Stewart had moss green eyes and dark brown hair caressed his brow. He had laugh lines and a tiny spattering of freckles along his nose. A far cry from Charlie’s stoic blond good looks, brown eyes and a face that didn’t look lived in. Something I remembered about Charlie. He didn’t smile often. I wondered if he was ever happy.
I felt my cock harden as I took in the beauty of his son. I needed to get away from the delicious looking man. I couldn’t do this to him. Not here, not today. I hoped my erection wasn’t noticeable.
“You’re Rafe. Rafe Wilson, right?”
I was stunned he knew my name. How did he know me when I had no idea he even existed. “Ah…yes, that’s me.”
“My father told me about you.” He spoke so softly I almost didn’t hear him.
“He did?” I sounded surprised, even I could hear it in my voice.
“Yes. About a week before he died, he called me and told me there was someone I needed to meet, someone who might need me to take care of him. I didn’t know what to make of it, to tell you the truth. Now that I look back, he must have known he wouldn’t be around much longer.”
“What? I don’t think I understand.”
“He loved you, you know. Dad told me he couldn’t love you the way you deserved. He wanted me to know you didn’t care about his money, but you loved him with every fiber of your being. That was important to him. Dad also told me you’d finally left him for good. Then he told me I had to meet you.”
“I’m sorry. I can’t–I–” I ran away. Staying and listening to a stranger tell me Charlie’s feelings was too much. And what the fuck was he thinking, telling his son to come find me. Matchmaking from the grave? I didn’t recognize my voice as a hysterical laugh slipped from my throat. I had to leave, now. I couldn’t stay in this house any longer, too many memories nipping at my heels and I couldn’t let them pull me under.

(Note from Jess:  I love this cover so much, I thought I’d just make sure everyone got a look see.)

Thanx JJJ, for the interview,

Jess

Meet the Heat: Jayne Rylon

Ah, Jayne! What can I say about her? She is a brilliant, brilliant author, writes scorching hot, emotionally charged love stories, has mastered the art of m/m, m/m/f  and /m/f/m scenes, and is charting new territories with her m/m/m/m/m/m/m/m/m/m/m/f books.

Jayne’s releases head straight for no 1 on the bestseller lists, and tend to stay on those lists for a very long time.

Of all her books, and she’s written some crackers (I love, love, love Night is Darkest), Jayne’s first release is still my favorite. Picture Perfect is available now at Ellora’s Cave, and you can find out more about it by scrolling down to the end of this post.

I’ve taken this opportunity to interview the lovely Jayne. (And yes, she really is lovely, even if her answers reveal her to be a tiny bit twisted…)

So, please welcome…

JAYNE RYLON:

1) Jayne Rylon: Pen name or real name?

Pen name.

2) Where did you come up with the name?

I could tell you but then I’d have to kill you.  :)   It’s a combination of my grandmother’s street name and my real name.

(Note from Jess. Yeah, I warned you. Twisted. But wait, you ain’t seen nothing yet.)

3) You’ve come a long way since we did the Menage and More anthology together. Tell us about your writing and your books since then.

It’s in no small part to you and Lorelei that I am where I am today.  The menage and more antho was a big part of getting my name out there.  I’d only had one other release before that time so no one knew who I was (not that I’m a household name today or anything, lol!).  I really appreciate the opportunity I was given to participate in the project with two outstanding authors who inspired me to keep going.

So… since that time, there’s been a lot going on.  I’m working on the Powertools series which is a collection of extended menage short stories, the first of which was Kate’s Crew.  Book two, Morgan’s Surprise will be out from Samhain in January with two more to follow.  In addition, I’ve been writing the Men in Blue series of novels which run the gamut from m/m/f to straight m/f to BDSM.  Plus, the fabulous Mari Carr and I have a four book co-authored series in the works for next year.  I’ve also been involved in the Cougar Challenge series at Ellora’s Cave with Driven and the sequel to that book which both rely heavily on international travel settings.  Plus, my first Exotika release at EC is coming soon!  And… well, like I said, there’s a lot going on. For those who aren’t asleep by now they can check out the books page on my site for more deets.

(Note from Jess: Yeah, it’s all thanx to Lorelei and myself that Jayne is a brilliant author. Her skill had nothing to do with her success.)

(4) m/f ,m/f/m. m/m/f, or m/m/m/m/m/m/m/mm/f. Which do you enjoy writing the most?

Clearly it’s got to be the mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm variety.  I mean, it’s even a sound that sounds good.  Plus, the covers are yummy.  What can I say?

5) Which character in your book most closely resembles you?

I don’t think any of my characters are like me.  There are tiny little slivers of things that come from my experience (no, not the good parts) like the places in my books–I’ve never written about a location I haven’t been to–or Alexa’s car in Nice and Naughty.  I do actually drive a silver convertible.  But, I like to think all of my heroines are extraordinary people and I’m just me.  Nothing heroic to look at here.

6) Who is your favorite hero?

Of all my heroes, I think I like Razor the most right now.  (That’s Razor from Razor’s Edge). He’s young, makes mistakes, has a crapload of stuff dumped on him and keeps charging through.  I can’t wait for his book to release (in November!).  I have a feeling Jeremy Radison might pass him up when I get to the next book in the series, though.  It’s one of the greatest things about writing connected books.  You really live with these characters for a long time.  I’ll be sad when I’ve told all the Men in Blue stories.

7) Who would you choose to have a menage with? It can be anyone, and it doesn’t have to be limited to three of you. ;) (And yes, you have to answer.)

I have to answer?  We’re going to have to talk about your “friendly” interviews, Jess.  Uhhhh… Ranger and Joe Morelli.  Enough said.

8) Let’s throw you into the “Indecent Proposal” scenario. You and your hubby are struggling. Money’s tight. Reaaalllllly tight. And then out of the blue a handsome stranger offers you a million dollars to sleep with him. Would you do it? (Remember, honesty please.)

I’d go ahead and let the guy sleep with my husband as long as I could watch.  Oh, what, that’s not what you meant?  And husband, if you see this… I’m just kidding.  Really.

(Note from Jess: What did I tell you about the twisted thing???)

Picture Perfect

The Blurb:

Conn Hennessey would give his father’s properties to ravish the woman he watches every night as an unwilling voyeur. Dana is uninhibited, passionate and gorgeous, but he would never settle for spying on her if he had the chance to ease the loneliness she confesses to him often.

Trapped in a cursed painting nine hundred years ago, a millennium of experience convinces Conn that Dana is his soul mate. Observing her without being able to caress her, to bring all her sensual desires to reality, is an unending torment—until All Hallow’s Eve magic gives him a shot at freeing them both.

During one wild night, he fulfills Dana’s fantasies. Come morning, can he convince her of what he knows to be true? He’s not an imposter pretending to be the man of her dreams. They were destined to be together and he has twenty-four passion-filled hours to break the spell or be condemned to his prison, alone, for all of eternity.

The clock is ticking.

An Excerpt:

The fiery nymph on display in her luxurious bed made up for at least twenty of the boring years Conn Hennessey had spent in a dusty attic, covered with a canvas tarp. Her beauty staggered him. Her long legs, spread apart directly in front of him, granted him clear access to admire her freshly waxed mound.

Sweet gods! The need to take her, to consume her, tormented him. Doomed to observe, his eyelids refused to close as manners required. Forced to watch, Conn couldn’t even relieve his own arousal as his body demanded. Nine hundred years of torture had taught him any attempt to move was futile. No matter how badly he longed to wrap his hand around his throbbing cock, his arm might as well have been made of steel. It would not budge. The roar of impotent rage bubbling within him would never break through his mouth, forever sealed in that nasty grimace of shock and outrage.

Dana stared straight into his eyes as she inched the shiny material of her garment up her supple belly, innocently setting him ablaze. Her innate sensuality distracted him, pulling him from his fit of anger. Resigned to his fate, Conn admitted the situation could be worse. Her earlier phone conversation had been muffled by the partially closed door. The dread building inside his heart as he listened to Dana’s extended grooming ritual subsided now that he realized she hadn’t been arranging a tryst with a lover.

Though she’d never brought a man home for sex in her bed, she indulged in occasional affairs. Conn lived vicariously through the steamy stories she related to him about her limited sexual experiences, always devising ways he could have improved her pleasure. He stored memories for the long and lonely times when nothing happened, when his owner deserted the house, leaving him with nothing to occupy his mind. During those stretches of unbearable quiet, he fantasized about what he would do to her if only he could.

Meet the Heat: T/EBookAddict

Yep, EBookAddict is a real person. You might know here as Theresa, or just plain T. Or you might know her as the owner of a wonderful review site called, surprisingly, Reviews at EbookAddict.

When I first met T, she was only just starting up with reviewing. Now she’s got this amazing website, and several reviewers working with her, and she’s being sent books for review from almost every major e-publisher in the romance world.

I’m very happy to tell you I’ve interviewed T, and you can get to know her just a little better by reading her answers to my questions below.

So….

HERE’S T!

Hey T. Welcome to my blog!

Gee I’ve never been interviewed before this may go to my head ;) lol

1) How did you discover the wonderful world of ebooks?

Reading Suzanne Brockmann’s Troubleshooter’s series I fell in love with her characters Jules and Robin and I wanted to read more m/m so I went in search of more authors and sadly for the most part ebooks are the only place to find m/m romance, in my searchI found Ellora’s Cave and ebooks and the rest as they say is history

2) What made you decide to start reviewing ebooks?

Actually it is probably a very egotistical reason. I wanted to be able to tell people my opinion of books… yep I had opinions and I just knew the world wanted to know what those were ;) *insert maniacal laugh here*

3) I know you have a personal preference when it comes to genres. Do tell…

Male/male romance! I love it. I am hooked. I think I always will be. I had hit a point in romance where everything was the same one way or another, and I was getting bored. Then I found m/m romance and even though the basics of the stories were the same it was something different, and well I’m not going to lie the hotness has a lot to do with it.

4) Tell us about Ebookaddictreviews.com.

I’m a control freak, and I probably don’t take constructive criticism as well as I should, so going to work for one of the established reviews sites just didn’t work for me, I had to be able to do things my way… So ebookaddict was born I could review the books I wanted and share my thoughts on them, and pimp…I mean promote the authors I wanted to. I had my favorites and I wanted to help in some small way.  It really started out as something more like a hobby and then some of the authors I would review started asking if I wanted whatever their newest release was at the time.  And that in my opinion was the highest compliment they could have given me. Then I met you ladies (IH) and you all supported and encouraged me and I caved and sent my first batch of e-mails out to publishers requesting to be one of their review sites. Loose Id were the first to give my small review site a chance to grow and for that they will always have a special place in my overly mushy heart. ;)

After that more authors started sending requests and some smaller publishers sent review requests and I actually had to look for another reviewer to help me out. That was serious WOW moment for me. I could not believe I had grown that much. In the last month I’ve actually had to bring on even more reviewers to help with the review requests and I transitioned over to website. I’m still wondering why I did this, but I just woke up one morning and decided it was time and thanks to the help of Author Design Services we got it done and went live in under a week. Yes I really work that way once I’ve made up my mind to something. I just do it. God help the rest of the world when I’m on mission. I could seriously go on and on I love talking about Ebook Addict Reviews. It is my baby, but I’ll spare you all the baby picture J LOL

5) How would an author get you to review his/her book?

If they send an e-mail to me at ebookaddict@bellsouth.net with the name of the book they’d like reviewed, along with the blurb, we will do our best to match their book with one of our reviewers. Once we have a reviewer for the book I will send them an e-mail requesting the book.

6) Who would you choose to have a menage with? (Yes, you have to answer. Both Anne and Lexxie did. )

Hmmm… First let me say I love you Mikey (that is my husband) But I want to have a ménage with Joe Morelli and Ranger. *sigh* Yep, you guessed it folks I am a Stephanie Plum junkie. Joe and Ranger are my heroes!

Hey you’re the one who said this was imaginary J LOL

7) Who are the last two people on earth you’d choose to have a threesome with?

Hmm I’m not really sure I know… I mean if I wouldn’t have a threesome with them should I really know who they’d be J LMAO Actually I could think of two people but I’m SO SO SO not going there so um… on to the next question….

(Not from Jess: I find it unacceptable that T did not answer this. Doesn’t she know we really wanna know?)

8) The best review you’ve ever written. Wanna share it?

I’m not sure I know what my best one is, or I’m the one to ask, but two books come to mind. Maybe not as my best reviews, but as two of my favorite reads. You can read each review by clicking on them. Texas Surrender by Claire Thompson and More by Sloan Parker. These two reads make an impression that sticks with you. I’d like to think my reviews did them justice, but I guess that is a decision the reader would have to make.

9) Are you running a contest this week?

Yes actually I have a few contests this week!

Amanda Young is giving away a copy of her new release Reckless Heart on Monday,

D.W. Marchwell is giving away a copy of Good To Know,

Claire Thompson is offering a copy of Safe In His Arms, when it has been released.

I’m giving away a small gift bag from Bath & Body Works and some miscellaneous promotional items.

Check out my website or leave a comment at International Heat to go into the draw to win one of these wonderful prizes.

—————————

Thank you, T!

Jess
