Dee-liciously Sexy Romance

A once in a lifetime review

It’s not every day I can walk into a room and announce that one of my books has been reviewed by Publisher’s Weekly. But today I can do that, and I can do it with an enormous amount of pride. Because not only did PW review a book of mine, but they awarded it a STAR review.

Usually I’d only post a snippet of a review, but well, seeing as this is a biggie for me, I’m gonna go the distance and post the whole damn thing.

(*Ahem* Please note the little, red star beside the title. :D )

Colors of Love: Speed, Book 2

Jess Dee. Samhain, $4.50 e-book (162p) ISBN 978-1-60928-930-0

Dee follows See You in My Dreams with a red-hot tale that has true heart. Seth Pace, guitarist and songwriter for a rock band, Speed, has the hots for the band’s manager, Luke Struthers. Luke, deeply in love with Seth, fights that attraction with everything he’s got; having grown up in an abusive home, he’s afraid of perpetuating the cycle of violence. Both men occasionally enjoy threesomes with women, so Luke hatches a plan while the band’s on tour: to bring a straight woman, Karen “Kaz” Flaherty, into bed with him and Seth and then slip away. What Luke doesn’t know is that Kaz has an extraordinary ability to read auras, and unparalleled intuition. She’s determined to find out why Luke’s aura radiates despair and help all three of them find lasting love. The sex scenes sizzle, and Dee’s skillful characterization will have readers eagerly hoping the trio get their happily ever after. (Aug.)

See You In My Dreams

Book 1 in my new series, Speed, is now available from Samhain Publishing.

Yep, See You In My Dreams, my erotic, contemporary romance – with just a hint of fantasy, released last night, and I am stoked.

I’m also excited because the book already has a couple of lovely reviews:

1) “Like the strings of a guitar well played, Jess Dee weaves her magic in this novella filled to the brim with sensuality and emotion. Recommended for fans of Jess Dee, fans of erotic contemporary romances and fans of utterly drool worthy rock-star heroes who makes your heart sing! Seductive, alluring and mesmerizing; See You In My Dreams is a novel that I loved from start to finish!” (Reviewed by Maldivian Book Reviewer)

2) “Can dreams really come true?  The touching, sexy, sweet way Jess Dee creates this story has me believing they really can. Ms. Dee knows how to pack emotions and hot smexin’ in one short story AND making the HEA believable. It’s not an easy feat to impress me with a short story, but Ms. Dee did it with this one.” (Reviewed by DiDi, Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews)

See You In My Dreams: The Blurb

Every girl’s fantasy…one woman’s dream.

Speed, Book 1

Sophie Butler is sure she’s about to lose her much-needed cleaning job. She’s not only walked in on a guest—a violation of her employer’s cardinal rule—but she can’t seem to tear her gaze away from his gorgeous, naked-as-the-day-he-was-born body.

If all that isn’t bad enough, her usually sensible judgment and behavior are clouded by a nagging sense of familiarity. She knows the man from somewhere, she just can’t quite place him.

Nathan Pace is certain he’s just lost his jealously guarded anonymity. But hold on…if she’s just another fan looking for a piece of his alter ego, rock star Jamie Speed, why is she blushing six shades of scarlet? And why is he instantly aroused? When he catches a glimpse of her eyes, he knows. She’s the woman who for ten years has haunted his dreams.

The attraction that flares between them is undeniable—and unstoppable. But getting close means risking Nathan’s secret identity. Just this once, he’d like a woman to fall for the real man, not the press’s version of a celebrity superstar.

Product Warnings: This may be an erotic contemporary romance, but it does contain a hint of fantasy. And when that fantasy involves erotic dreams about a gorgeous rock star, you know you’re gonna want the fantasy to become reality…

Raising the Stakes is Officially Available

Hell, yeah, I’m stoked.

Raising the Stakes, book 2 in the Three of a Kind series, is available, right now, at Samhain Publishing.

Raising the Stakes: The Blurb

(A red-hot, contemporary, M/F/M Menage)

Play out the hand her way…or fold?

Three of a Kind, Book 2

After four years, Megan Loxley has given up waiting for her best friend, Desmond Reed, to realize she loves him. It’s time to move on. When Des introduces her to his poker buddy, Alex Truman, the instantaneous sparks that flare between them signal her life is about to change forever.

Des could kick himself. How could he have failed to notice the perfect woman was by his side all this time? Now it’s too damn late. And her innocent prodding about why he’s suddenly so distant is only making his hunger for her worse. Then she gets one step too close—and his self-restraint snaps.

Stunned, bewildered, furious, Meg can’t help but respond to the kisses for which she waited so long. God help her, she loves Des. And Alex, too. Immeasurably. Now what

It may make her the greediest woman alive, but she’s determined to win the next hand— even if she has to change the game a little. First step: state her wildly sexy proposition in a language both men will understand…and hope they’ll stick around and play by her rules.

Warning: If you’re looking for a cool game of poker, you won’t find it here. This novella is so hot the cards are still smoking. The heroine may be new to the game, but she knows exactly how to play her two kings.

What readers and reviewers are saying about Raising the Stakes:

I freaking absolutely loved Jess’s Book Raising the Stakes. Who new playing poker with friends could lead to this. OMG the Love scenes were so damn hot I melted- literally, several times. I’m drooling right now just thinking about them. The emotions between Meg, Des and Alex are well, lets say I cried and rejoyced and cried some more and wanted to thump somebody with my cure-all cast iron frying pan. I love the emotions going on in Des’s and especially Alex’s head. I hate giving away spoilers so I canna say anything else except go buy it!!!!!!! And if you haven’tread the first book in this series Going All In, go buy it for goodness sake and treat yourself!!! (Zina)

“After reading this book I had to restrain myself from going out and throwing myself in the snow to cool down! *fans self* I loved the first book in this series but fell madly in love…or should I say lust with this book.” (JBP Reviews)

Raising the Stakes is a captivating, scintillating story that will take you on an intense, emotional rollercoaster ride guaranteed to have you sitting on the edge of your seat while begging and pleading for more. The sex is raw, hot, powerful, intense, and emotional to the point that you can’t help but feel the love. This well-written story will definitely keep you warm on a cold winter’s night as the words flow smoothly over the page.” (Black Raven)

“A dynamic story that touches the vulnerabilities with adding a  third into a relationship.  I thought Jess Dee beautifully portrayed the feelings associated with something new like being with the woman you love and sharing.  A delightful read.” (Emily, Sensual Reads.)

Raising the Stakes is available now at MBAM.

Double whammy of review goodness

Today was one of those wonderful days.

I didn’t just get one review… I got two! And they were both awesome reviews.

The first one was even more exciting because the book reviewed hasn’t been released yet. I’ve never gotten a preview review before.

:)

So wanna know what was said? Read on.

Review 1: Raising The Stakes

Reviewed at BlackRaven Reviews

Blackraven read the second book in the Three of a Kind series, and had this to say about it:

If you’re looking for a sensual story where the sex is explicit, the love is endearing, and the cards are smoking hot, then Raising the Stakes is definitely the book to read. Two thumbs up to Ms. Dee!

Review 2: Visiting Paradise

Reviewed by Maldivian Book Reviewer

Maldivian Book Reviewer had lots of lovely things to say about the novella. Here’s a little snippet:

Likes:
1- Visiting Paradise is a very short novella. What surprised and delighted me most was the depth of character development that Ms. Dee brought into the story which made it so much more appealing to read. If it had just been about kinky sex and a rushed happily ever after, I would not have felt for the characters and cheered for the happy ending as I did when I finished reading this beautiful novella.
2- Joseph Bastion. He can steer my ship towards paradise any day! *winks*
3- Loved the delightfully sensuous scenes that unfolded within the story. Tastefully done erotica is always a major turn-on for me. *wicked grin*

Dislikes: None!

Recommended for:
1- Fans of contemporary erotica romances.
2- Those who love their erotica with a story that is worth sinking into, as it is the case with this yummylicious read!”

Final Grade:

Grade: A+

THANK YOU MDR!

New Reviews and Review Sites

It’s been a very exciting 24 hours for me.

After a dearth of reviews, I’ve suddenly got two new ones. Oh, and they’re both really lovely.

:D

The first one I received was for Visiting Paradise. Deb, over at Dark Divas Reviews emailed me a few days back to say she’d read the book and loved it. Then she followed that up with a Five Delightful Diva review at the stunningly renovated Dark Divas. Here’s what she had to say:

“Visiting Paradise is a sensual delicious treat with a touch of heart. Jess Dee writes a story you can curl up too, even though it left this reviewer wanting a whole lot more.

The plotline was HOT & Steamy! These two could evaporate water on contact. With all that said, Jess Dee rocked the boat and this book! Read the book if you want to know what I am talking about.”

Rated 5 Delightful Divas by Deb!

(You can read the whole review HERE.)

Then… this morning I woke up to more good news. A Question of Trust has been reviewed over by Tarsilla over at BlackRaven’s Reviews. May I state here that BlackRaven has also had an incredible overhaul. The site looks gorgeous.

This is what Tarsilla had to say about A Question Of Trust:

“Man, this book gives hawt a whole new definition! A Question of Trust is by far one of the best first-time ménage stories I have ever read. It’s got it all, great characters, a great plot, scorching sex, and a lot of sweet love.

This is a definite must-read for any erotica m-f-m lovers out there. It’s really a great story that sizzles on the surface, but is incredibly sweet underneath, which is an infallible combination that satisfies from beginning to end.”

Rated 5 Ravens and a Recommended Read by Tarsilla!

This Week’s 5 Heart Sweetheart at TRS

Yep. I’m beaming from ear to ear.

Just heard from the lovely Selena Illyria that Going All In is This week’s 5 Heart Sweetheart over at The Romance Studio.

:D

Thank you to all of you who voted, and thank you to Shalanda from the TRS for giving the book such a lovely review:

“Going All In was a quick and enjoyable story. I was cautious about the story as it was very short but I applaud Ms. Dee on an impressively well written and fully developed story despite the brevity. The characters were realistic, flawed and very inventive. The sex was intense and graphic. The reader should be aware that there are scenes of ménage in which the male characters do not interact sexually and others where they do. There are issues that the characters have to overcome which were very unique and interesting. I enjoyed that Ms. Dees included a plot twist which allowed the characters to change and adapt in that suppressed amount of time. Nonetheless, the story is quickly paced with an excellent story line and well developed characters. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story and will have to try out another of Ms. Dee’s novels.” – Shalanda

Ask Adam – A New Review 2 Years On

It’s been more than two years since Ask Adam released at Samhain.

So you can imagine my delight when I was sent a link from The Pleasure Chest Blog for a new review for the book.

This is what the reviewer had to say:

“This is the first book I’ve read by Jess Dee and I was not disappointed. The characters are well developed. Adam comes off as being an ass at first because of the emotional issues that he isn’t ready to deal with. Jess Dee does such a wonderful job of expressing his emotions I choked up many times. Lexi is a great character, funny and passionate.

It took me on a very emotional journey. One of humour, sadness and great happiness. Very hot! Can’t wait to read more of her books.”

I think that’s a real cool review. :D

Thank you Pleasure Chest.

Since it’s been a while since I posted anything about Ask Adam, here’s the cover (I know, HAWT!) and the blurb FYI.

Ask Adam – The Blurb

Can one wild night of passion turn into the romance of a lifetime?

Lexi Tanner’s got a major problem: AJ Riley, the man she’s about to approach for a hefty donation, turns out to be the stranger she shared a night of steamy sex with less than a week past. She’ll do anything to raise money for a children’s charity—anything except sell herself. Now how can she ask AJ for money without it seeming like he’s paying for sexual favors?

If there’s one thing the past has taught Adam “AJ” Riley, it’s that loving someone can only lead to pain. He knows he shouldn’t feel so attracted to Lexi, and he definitely shouldn’t trust a woman who’d sleep with a man one week and approach him for money the next. Yet somehow Lexi breaks through all his barriers. His instincts tell him to run but his heart wants to give Lexi—and love—a second chance. How can he let go of his tragic past and still protect his battered heart?

Warning, this title contains the following: steamy sex, graphic language and red-hot romance.

Going All In – A Recommended Read

Yesterday I received two wonderful emails. Okay, so the emails themselves weren’t wonderful, but the links within were.

:)

Going All In received two awesome reviews.

1) The Blackraven’s Review Spot:

Janis from Blackraven had this to say about Going All In:

“Two thumbs up to Ms. Dee for providing us with a luminous, tantalizing story in which the stakes are high and the characters are willing to lose everything in order to overcome their fears and embrace their inhibitions in hope of finding love and a Happily Ever After.  I would definitely recommend Going All In to my friends.”

Rated 5 Stars and a Recommended Read by The Blackraven!

5 Angels and 2 bestseller lists!

Looks to me like 2010 has gotten off to a great start!

Why do I say this? Well…

One book has received a five Angel review, and another book has hit two bestseller lists. What more could a writer ask for?

(…she says calmly, pretending she’s not fainting from the excitement.)

Check this out…

A Question of Love was given Five Angels by Sandie over at Fallen Angel Reviews:

“It is obvious Ms. Dee writes from the heart and has the ability to live the story with her characters. The sexual tension steams up the pages, you can’t help but want them to work out their problem and find their happy ever after. If you want a story that will take you on the ride of your life A Question of Love is the one for you.”

And then Going All In has hit two bestseller lists:

My Bookstore and More:

Best Sellers:

(What’s real nice about this list is that the first five books were all released on the same day, as part of Samhain’s New Year special.)

And then there’s a first for me. Going All In found a place (however temporary) on the Kindle bestseller list!

Yes, I have immortalized the page forever, and here is a snippet from said page:

Amazon.com Sales Rank: #726 in Kindle Store (See Bestsellers in Kindle Store)

Popular in this category: (What’s this?)

#97 in Kindle Store > Kindle Books > Romance

AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!

I am one happy camper writer.

One day to release – and five Cherries!

It’s close. So close I can barely stand it.

Going All In releases tomorrow at Samhain. Well, actually, it releases today – because its already the 29th of December in Sydney. (Which means it’s one of those incredibly loooong days waiting for the book to release.)

Did I mention the book already has one incredible review?

Tuberose, at Whipped Cream Reviews, gave it FIVE CHERRIES!

This is what she had to say:

“Ms. Dee does an awesome job of pulling you into this unique relationship between two very HOT men and one lucky woman. The emotions shown by all three involved make you feel like you are there with them. I could not put the book down, desperate to know if they would “go all in”. If you love hot books, you cannot go wrong with this one.”

Thank you, Tuberose!
